End of the Year Tax Information

The end of the year tax information that the Union Office mails out will go out in January after all of our contractors have reported hours and earnings for December 2018.

The local does not know what will be eligible this year to be turned in on your taxes.  You will need to speak with a professional tax preparer to find out what the new laws are.

You also do not need to contact the office about having your information mailed.  Thankfully we have software that now prepares all of that information for us and we just print one out for each member and mail it automatically.

Death Assessment Payments

Currently there are several members who are severely behind on death assessment payments.  Only retirees have the option whether they participate in the death assessment program or not so if you are an active member (non retired) and you are behind on your assessments, please contact the Business Office (740) 439-3623 and make arrangements to get caught up.

Effective January 1, 2019 the Business Office will be mailing statements to those members who are behind on death assessment payments.  We will work with you to try to get these caught up in a timely manner but if you choose to not do that we will have no choice but to ask the member to come before the Executive Board.

Thank you for your time with this matter.

E-Mail Addresses

As of October 15, 2018 the Union Office still has over 300 members who have not provided an e-mail address.

It is extremely important that if you have access to a computer or smart phone that you give us your current e-mail address or set one up.  If you are reading this message you have the ability to set up an e-mail address!

The newsletters are sent electronically which saves the Union money and also ensures you get the newsletter in a timely manner.

Cambridge Area Retiree Breakfast

Don’t forget the next Cambridge area Retiree Breakfast will be held on Tuesday, October 30th at 9:00 a.m. at April’s Kitchen in Newcomerstown, Ohio.  All retirees who are able are encouraged to attend.

April’s Kitchen is located at 640 Heller Drive, Newcomerstown, OH  43832.

September Dues are Due!

September dues will be due September 1st.  If you are only paid through May on your dues you are going to assess a reinstatement fee from the U.A. in the amount of $50.00.  This is a charge we cannot keep you from getting if you are that far behind.

Please contact the Business Office (740) 439-3623 and speak with either Heather or Esther in regards to your dues payments.

*** If you are out of town working do not just assume that your dues are being paid.  Out of town locals are not required to pay the 1% back every month and many wait 3 + months to do so making you behind delinquent.  It is better to check in with the office than get a reinstatement fee.
